12th century pottery find
Outline drawing, presumably full size, of a cooking pot. Letter dated 15 October 1947 to Canon Cole from F S Wallis, Director of The City Museum, Bristol. Quotes British Museum report by R L S Bruce Mitford on a fragment of pottery found by a Mr. Salisbury. Also, script of a short address (one side) apparently given on site as it refers to “… found in part of the garden of this house”. No indication of the site or if the finder, Mr Salisbury, was the owner of the house. Although the letter indicates that the piece of pottery included part of the rim of the pot, there is no indication on the drawing of the size of the piece found.
