Supposed Course of Underground Streams in the Everton area by Cdr. V. A. L. Bradyll-Johnson. In 1968-69 an investigation was made into a purported underground stream shown on a Lymington Corporation map as flowing from Ashley to Pennington Marshes. The President of the British Society of Dowsers, Major-General J. Scott Elliott, confirmed there were two branches, one roughly as on the map and another slightly to the south-west ending at Keyhaven Marshes. Later, his findings were largely corroborated by a professional water surveyor, Mr. A. C. Williamson, for the 60ft-wide stream flowing at a depth of 150ft. The present article is a short report quoting the relevant map coordinates for the stream.
