Elephant tusk
Part of a letter dated 11 December 1939, addressed Dear Dr from 34 Princess Court, Bayswater. First paragraph refers to information about the tusk found at Paddys Gap, presumably the opinion attached to the drawing (MHR.002724). Para 2 gives advice on what to do with society’s records should it cease. Para 3 to the bottom of page 2 talks of the effects of the war so far on the Museum. Rest of letter missing. Presumably, from someone at the Natural History Museum. Also, an unsigned, undated note giving details of the finding of the tusk on 18 April 1939 and that the drawing is half life size. On Hurst Barn headed paper; Dr Fuller England lived at Hurst Barn in 1939. Stored with MHR.002724.
