Occasional Magazine Vol.1 No.1 (August 1909)
Memorandum of Address by Dr. V. D. Harris. A transcript of the President’s address to the Society’s first open meeting on 19 April 1909. E. L. Agar had originally suggested the desirability of a Society for Milford and seven interested people met on 25 January 1909 and brought it into being. Dr. Harris then details numerous research materials already known about and worthy of historical investigation, particularly relating to All Saints Church and Parish affairs. The Society’s work could extend to the history of old local families and take in recording local geology, flora and fauna. The paper concludes with data on properties and their owners in 1670 for Milford Parish and nearby Manors, the subject-matter of the meeting.
