Occasional Magazine Vol.4 No.4 (June 1929)
Notes relating to the Development of Milford by Dr. V. D. Harris. A record from personal acquaintance of the development of Milford from 1887, especially its extension on Hordle Cliff as a proposed seaside resort by Col. William Cornwallis-West. The various houses and their occupants as they came to be built are described as is the work of The Milford Improvement Committee. Following a Local Government Act a duly elected Milford Parish Council took office on 31 December 1894 and in later years purchased from Col. West’s heir the interests (not the land) that now existed in New Milford.
