The Salt Marsh and Shingle Plants of Keyhaven by Miss B. Martin. The ecology of plants that can grow on salt marsh or shingle bank is explained. A description is also given of Spartina, a grass that can so colonise mud flats as to reclaim land and form grazing meadows. An appendix lists some salt marsh and shingle plants characteristic of autumn.
