When you go to the Search the Archive page you will see in the first line how many records are currently available to search. It will take some time before all 8,000 records are available.
You will see down the left hand side three filters: Format; Decade; and, Century. Above these is a space for a word search and a search button.
Format, century and decade
If you are searching for a particular format of record, then you should click on that format. The records which are in that format will be selected and the number of records will be shown at the top. This process can be repeated for century and decade.
If you still have many records to search then enter a word that is relevant to your search. There is no special vocabulary of keywords. You can keep narrowing your search with additional word searches. Your search trail is recorded above the table of remaining records.
You can sort your results by Relevance, Title, Oldest and Newest.
When you have isolated the record or records that you would like to view then make a note of the Reference Number/s and complete the simple request form for the Archivist.
Remember if you wish to search the website pages as well as the Archive you can use the search feature above the page.
